Opinion: Sumter won't change unless all its residents change first

Sumter 2040: The future, like a runaway train, is approaching fast. The terrible happenings are caused by "we the people." As many religious people should believe, the devil is in us. Sumter won't change until we change. With all the craziness, I would tell any woman that lives in a house with a gun, make it disappear. A gun does not make a man and can shorten a life. We need to learn to live without the insanity. To all, I say, get involved in whatever way you can. Whatever you do in life, be the best. All jobs are performed only as good as the person. Terrible person, terrible job.

Sumter 2040: Politically speaking, Sumter should walk the "white line" in the road and stay out of the "ditch" on the left or right side of the road. A good argument can be made the Republican Party no longer exists. A person has to be pretty much "disconnected" to go along with either side politically. We must be better than this to reach year 2040 instead of 1940. Good sense should rule every day. Too many people can't find their "butts" using both hands.

Sumter 2040: Let's get rid of the Electoral College because if every citizen votes, South Carolina only has nine votes for president and not a majority vote for president. The Electoral College is outdated and may have ever been a good law.
