PEGGY KNIGHT BOWERS
Peggy Knight Bowers, age 80, beloved wife of the late Clinnon Franklin Bowers, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at her residence.
Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late John Massey Knight and Martha Lee Melton Knight. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by four sons, Joel Bowers of Sumter, Billy Bowers of Sumter, Ricky Bowers and his wife, Margaret, of Sumter and Steven Bowers of Sumter; two daughters, Darlene Robinson and her husband, Ray, of Cassatt and Libby Turner and her husband, William, of Pinewood; three brothers, Johnny Knight, Donny Knight and Richard Knight, all of Camden; three sisters, Naomi Farrow of Camden, Shirley Anderson of Sumter and Vicki Thomas of Camden; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Knight; two sisters, Carolyn Carraway and Joyce Boykin; and a granddaughter, Shirle Ann Bowers.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Providence Baptist Church. The interment will follow the service at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Bullock Funeral Home.
