PETER NELSON

Peter Nelson, 69, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019.

Born Feb. 2, 1950, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Jessie and Frizeal Hayward Nelson. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. He lived most of his life in South Carolina and Texas. He was an honorably discharged veteran and a carpenter by trade.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his partner in life, Lucille; two sons, Scott and Marion; one daughter, Precious Shawtell George; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 1022 Plowden Mill Road, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Emmanuel Davis officiating, eulogist.

Wake services will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. today in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home.

The procession will leave at 12:20 p.m. from the home.
