Polar Express Pajama Party is tonight at Turbeville Train Depot

TURBEVILLE - All aboard The Polar Express tonight at 6:45 at the Turbeville Train Depot, also known as the Pine Grove United Methodist Gym, 1090 Morgan St. off U.S. 301. The Pajama Party's destination will be the North Pole. The evening of fun is sponsored by the Puddin' Swamp Festival and the Turbeville Business Association. Tickets are $3 per child and adult. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The "bell will ring" for those who believe.

Barrineau Christmas Parade on Saturday
BARRINEAU - The Barrineau Christmas Parade will begin at 11 a.m. Dec. 7. The route will include St. James and Barrineau roads. Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church will have lots of tasty goodies on sale to raise money for church projects.

Central Carolina Technical College celebrates "the Gift of Education" on Dec. 12
SUMTER - Central Carolina Technical College is hosting "the Gift of Education" at 9 a.m. Dec. 12 at CCTC's Health Sciences Center, 133 S. Main St., Sumter. Join CCTC as it celebrates the renewal of Central Carolina Scholars. This initiative has both transformed the lives of high school graduates from Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties and provided a trained and ready workforce for economic development in central South Carolina for the past five years. This "gift of education" could not be possible without partnerships with Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter county councils and Camden and Sumter city councils.

"A Small Town Christmas in Turbeville" will be held on Dec. 14
TURBEVILLE - Enjoy "A Small Town Christmas in Turbeville" from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 14. The town will host its annual Christmas parade along U.S. 301. Folks will be able to enjoy the parade, the tree lighting and perhaps a visit from the little old man from the North Pole.

Marine Toys for Tots collecting toys through Dec. 15
MANNING - The Litchfield Company-Wyboo Sales office, 2538 Players Course Drive, is supporting the Marine Toys for Tots campaign this year and asking communities to join them in bringing Christmas cheer to needy children in the community by donating new, unwrapped toys at their office through Dec. 15. Miss Manning High will be crowned on Dec. 16
MANNING - The Miss Manning High School pageant will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at Weldon Auditorium, 7 Maple St. Tickets will be available at the door.

Carolina Dance Academy will host a Christmas special on Dec. 19

Summerton celebrates A Main Street Christmas on Dec. 20
SUMMERTON - Summerton's third-annual A Main Street Christmas will be held from 4:30 p.m. until on Dec. 20. The event that is sponsored by Duckfest will have fun for the whole family. A parade, food, tree lighting, Santa, vendors and The Grinch, which is rated PG, will be featured. And back by popular demand is the contest for best-decorated golf cart in the parade. So don't forget to "deck" out those golf carts. The event is free; however food and other activities may cost extra. Seating for The Grinch is not provided. Please bring a blanket or chairs so you and your family can enjoy the movie.

Clarendon County Junior Chamber hosts Oyster Roast on Dec. 21

MANNING - The Clarendon County Junior Chamber will host its annual Oyster Roast from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 21 at the National Guard Armory, 2883 Raccoon Road. Tickets are $30 for singles and $50 for couples. All-you-can-eat oysters, Beaufort Stew and perlou rice are on the menu. Knives will be provided, but please bring your own gloves.
