COLUMBIA - Sydne Rae Posey and Charles Segars Barnes, both of Sumter, were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at The Millstone at Adams Pond.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Steven Posey and the granddaughter of Mrs. Lee Lee Holland Beatty and the late Julius Heyward Tyler and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Eugene Posey, all of Sumter. She graduated from Clemson University and is employed by Mid Atlantic Bone and Spine as a medical sales representative.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jackson Barnes of Sumter and the grandson of Mr. Charles Arthur Segars and the late Mrs. Segars of Sumter and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Paul Barnes of Florence. He graduated from Clemson University and is a professional baseball player with the Minnesota Twins Organization.

Pastor John Sorrells officiated at the ceremony.

Music was provided by a string quartet of Sumter High School students.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white, sleeveless ball gown with an illusion, beaded bodice and a layered organza skirt with horsehair trim. She carried a bouquet of garden roses, spray roses, ranunculus and lisianthus.

Kaylee Posey, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sally Barnes, sister-in-law of the bride, Ashleigh Collins, Gracie Flaspoehler, Daisy Glover, Katie Hyder, Meagan Magnus, Cassie Ramsey, Jill Ramsey, Holly Scott and Chelsea Snow.

The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Jack Barnes Jr. and James Barnes, brothers of the bridegroom, Lukas Daniel, Alex Eubanks, Bryson Johnson, Taylor McFadden, Chase Pinder, Seth Posey, brother of the bride, Adam Renwick, Will Smith and Drew Wharton.

A reception followed the ceremony.

Forest Lake Club in Columbia was the venue for the rehearsal dinner Friday night before the ceremony.

The couple will honeymoon in St. Lucia and will reside in Sumter in the off season and wherever duty calls during baseball season.
