BISHOPVILLE - Preston Mack Wilson was born on Jan. 5, 1946, to Ulysess Newman Wilson and the late Mack Wilson. He attended the public schools of Lee County. At an early age, he joined St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elliott. For many years, he was employed with Georgia-Pacific, VB Williams and Ceader Programs. Last, but not least, he was a master brick mason, until he retired in the year of 2017.

He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at McCoy Memorial Nursing Center in Bisopville.

He leaves to cherish deepest and fond memories: his loving and devoted wife, OraBelle Wells Wilson of the home; his loving mother, Ulysess Newman Wilson of Clinton, Maryland; his children, Wanda Wilson of North Carolina, Cletus (Jonafaye) Wilson of Hartsville, Melvin (Heather) Wells of Elliott, Dyrell (Tiffany) Wells of Ramstein, Germany, Christina (Joseph) Toney, Marion Wells, Wallace Wells, Albert Wells, Deloris Wells and Ogretta Wells, all of Elliott; a special grandson reared in the home, Markeavius Griffin; and a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also left behind to cherish memories are his sister, Carolyn (David) Blount of Windsor Mills, Maryland; three brothers, Glen Barry Winchester of Clinton, Harry Edward Smith Jr. and Larry Lorenzo (Kathy) Smith, both of Baltimore; one adopted brother, Edward "Big Ed" Overton of St. Mary's, Georgia; five sisters-in-law, Georgia Reames, Annie (Robert) Moses and Evaline (Harold) Harriott, all of Sumter, Doretha Wells of Elliott and Hattie M. Boone of Sumter; and two brothers-in-law, James (Claudia) Wells and Nathaniel Wells, both of Elliott.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elliott. Interment will follow at the church memorial garden.
