Prisma Health Tuomey discontinues drive-through COVID-19 community testing; SC DHEC and GENETWORx Labs partner to open free testing at Sumter Civic Center beginning Jan. 24

Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital has discontinued drive-through community testing for COVID-19 on the hospital campus but community testing for the Sumter area is planned to begin on Monday, Jan. 24, at the Sumter Civic Center, 700 W. Liberty St.
The new site, being offered by SC DHEC and GENETWORx Laboratories, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The site will be closed Friday, Jan. 28, due to a career fair.

- Officials advise that community testing sites are only intended for free community testing. Physician-ordered presurgical testing should take place at the hospital-based testing site.
- Tuomey Hospital drive-through testing will only be available to Prisma Health team members and pre-op patients effective Monday, Jan. 24, at 216 N. Main St., Sumter.
