Prisma Health Tuomey joins White Coats for Black Lives

Posted

Physicians, nurses, other clinical staff and family members at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital took a moment Saturday to join in the White Coats for Black Lives observation, demonstrating their support for equality and racial justice. The effort joined health care professionals across the country in "solidarity against senseless violence." This national call to action was organized by WhiteCoats4BlackLives, a group run by medical students whose vision is to "safeguard the lives and well-being of our patients through the elimination of racism." The group's goals are to foster dialogue on racism as a public health concern, end racial discrimination in medical care and prepare future physicians to be advocates for racial justice.
