Protest hearing of Manning mayoral race set for Friday

MANNING - A protest hearing will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 17, regarding Manning's July 14 mayoral race.

The Clarendon County Office of Voter Registration made the announcement Thursday afternoon. It did not release any information on who is protesting the race of Manning mayor or what is being protested.

The unofficial results from Tuesday's election revealed that incumbent Mayor Julia A. Nelson defeated challenger LaNette Samuels-Cooper 632-193.

The protest hearing will be held at Clarendon County Election Central, 104 S. Mill St., behind the gazebo. Social distancing will be adhered to during the hearing.
