Ragin Academy hosting community giveaway of cleaning, school supplies

Ragin Preparatory Christian Academy will hold a giveaway of both cleaning and school supplies from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, Sept. 12, at the school, 68 Market St. Academy representative Angela Terry said the academy received a grant for a community project from WellCare Community Foundation.

"Kingdom M-Pact (Ministries) is partnering with us on this project," Terry said. "We have what we call 'clean care' baskets filled with cleaning supplies and drawstring backpacks filled with school supplies."

Those working at the event will observe all COVID-19 recommended precautions, she said, adding that they hope those coming to the drive-through giveaway will wear masks and remain in their vehicles.

"The giveaway is open to all members of the community," Terry said.

Ragin Preparatory Christian Academy's founder and headmaster is Shawn Ragin, and Kelvin Hastie is special programs coordinator.
