RANDAL SWINTON

Randal Swinton, 58, of Columbia, was born on Sept. 2, 1960, in Sumter, to Roosevelt and Naomi Frierson Swinton. A loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2019, in his home.

Randal was a graduate of Sumter High School Class of 1978 and spent several years in the United States Army. He was an active member of Bible Way Church of Atlas Road and a member of the church choir.

Randy is survived by his dear wife, Debra Swinton of Columbia; his parents, Roosevelt and Naomi Swinton of Sumter; his daughter, Sherice Swinton-Wortherly of Sumter; sons, Michael (Patricia) Goodman of Sumter, Adrian (Janelle) Goodman of Columbia and Timothy (Kirstin) Goodman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his sister, Bonita (Leroy) Fleming of Sumter; his brother, Gerard Swinton of Sumter; 12 grandchildren; a special cousin, Reginald Taylor; and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, 2440 Atlas Road, Columbia, SC 29209 with Pastor Darrell Jackson Sr. officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1030 Atlas Road, Columbia, SC 29209 and the home of his parents, 10 Kent Place, Sumter, SC 29150.
