RANDY RONARD HEYWARD SR.

Randy Ronard Heyward Sr., 67, died on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House, Collierville, Tennessee.

Retired Lt. Col. Randy Heyward was born in Sumter, a son of the late Viola Moses Heyward and George W. Heyward. Following his retirement from the U.S. Army, Col. Heyward worked with Army instruction for Memphis City Schools and retired as director of Army instruction for Shelby County Schools - SCS.

Preceding him in death were his parents and sisters, George Shirley Heyward Gray and Gloria E. Heyward.

Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Thomas Heyward of Cordova, Tennessee, and formerly of Camden; daughter, Crystal D. Heyward of metropolitan Memphis, Tennessee; son, Randy R. Heyward Jr. of metropolitan Memphis; son, Ryan Timothy Heyward of metropolitan Memphis; granddaughter, Reyanna Heyward of metropolitan Memphis; brother, W. Rowland Heyward of Decatur, Georgia; niece, Samantha Gray Mickens (Tony) of Florence; aunt, Florence Moses Culbreath (Robert) of Sumter; uncles, retired Col. James O. Heyward (Willie Mae) of Huntsville, Alabama, and J. Henry Heyward Jr. of Columbia; stepmother, Inez Simon Heyward of Sumter; and numerous cousins and other loved ones in the Budden, Chase, Culbreath, Heyward, Lewis, Moses, Pringle, Thomas and Woods families.
