Business news: Rebranded dental office opens in Wesmark Plaza

It's not necessarily a new dental office, but one that has rebranded with a new name that has opened this week in Wesmark Plaza Shopping Center at 1121 Broad St.

Creston Dental and Braces, formerly Cool Smiles, opened Monday in the plaza that also houses Beacon Cinemas and is expanding into more adult procedures, according to office manager Katrina Dickey.

"Cool Smiles was more of a name towards Pediatrics," Dickey said, "so the company decided to change the name and rebrand in order for more adults to feel welcome here."

Now, the practice hopes to see as many adults as children. Formerly, Cool Smiles only saw adults for two to three hours per day.

"Now, our schedule is pretty open to adults to come in any time during the day," Dickey said.

Those services for adults include cleanings, dentures and oral surgery, among numerous others.

The practice accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid and regular commercial insurance.

Creston's staff includes two dentists, an orthodontist, three dental hygienists, five dental assistants and office personnel, Dickey said.

Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
