Reggie Palmer received his eternal call on Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at his residence, 172 Carolina Ave., Sumter.

He was the first son born to Roberta Reed-Palmer and the late Samuel Palmer Jr. He sparkled this earth on Sept. 25, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York. Reggie Palmer attended John Dewey High School in Brooklyn. He commenced his employment journey with the Eagle Electric Co. in Long Island City, New York. Later, he relocated to Sumter and worked at the Palmetto Pigeon Plant for many years, until his untimely departure.

Reggie Palmer was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Palmer Jr.; and siblings, James Palmer (brother) and Arniece Palmer-Mouzone (sister).

Treasured memories will live on by his mother, Roberta Reed-Palmer of Sumter; daughter, Regina Harper of Brooklyn; siblings, Jocella Palmer of Charlotte, North Carolina, Arnold (Cassandra) Palmer of Rock Hill and Ronald (Betty) Palmer of Sumter; nieces, Shamecia Bradley and Chauniece Mouzone; nephews, Ronald Palmer, Quentin Palmer and Arnold Jamar Palmer; grand-nieces and grand-nephews; Michael Gooden; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Hillside Memorial Park, 3001 Cains Mill Road, Sumter.

The procession will leave at 12:20 p.m. from the home.
