Renea Nicole Rivers Danzy, wife of Marcus Danzy, was born on April 19, 1983, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Wayne Rivers and Deborah Mack. She departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019.

She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Sumter High School Class of 2001. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. After graduation, Renea enlisted in the United States Army, serving 15 years before she became ill. She served as a laboratory technician, sergeant at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and a drill sergeant at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree at Thomas Edison State University, Clinical Laboratory Science Degree at George Washington and Clinical Laboratory Science at Pierce College.

Renea leaves to cherish her precious memory: her husband, Marcus Danzy; seven children, Teonna, Tyanna, Marcus Jr., Destiny, Devon, Janelle and Juslyn; a sister, Ashley (Alfred) Woods of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; two brothers, Cedric Mack and Alonzo Dubose, both of Sumter; five uncles, George (Wilhelmenia) Rivers of Columbia, William (Juanita) Mack, Darrelle Mack, Jamie Mack and Timothy Mack, all of Sumter; six aunts, Vivian (James) Jenkins, Angela (Dolphus) Burkett, Brenda Mack and Ruthie Mack, all of Sumter, Shelia Brown of Columbia and Thomasina Mack of Elloree; mother-in-law, Diane Danzy; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Rivers; two sisters-in-law, Tara Billings and Quashonda Colley; eight nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Blanche Mack.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Danzy will be placed in the church at 9 a.m. on Monday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 421 S. Main St., Sumter, with Pastor Marvis Stewart officiating and Pastor Marvin Hodge, eulogist. Interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1026 Belmont Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
