RICHARD A. MEY

Richard A. Mey, 84, widower of Judith Ann Laughlin Mey, died on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late George Mey and Elizabeth Domme Mey Jones. Mr. Mey was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired supervisor with Crucible Steel Co. in Midlands, Pennsylvania, and Slater Steel Co. in Fort Wayne, Indiana.                    

Surviving are three daughters, Joni Collins (Brad) of Chester, West Virginia, Cathy Jo Cuttino (Tom) of Sumter and Cari A. Mader (Kevin Zies) of Fort Wayne; two sons, Richard D. Mey (Leslie) of Churubsco, Indiana, and Jack Roush of Sumter; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Kurt Mey (Jaula) of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mark Mey (Diane) of Wheeling, West Virginia; and a sister, Rochelle Baker (Paul) of Bridgeport, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Mey and Robert Mey.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Josie Holler officiating. 

Graveside services with military honors will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service at 1080 Waterway Drive, Sumter.
