RICHARD JAMES LEALI
Richard James Leali, age 75, beloved husband of the late Betty Campbell Leali, died on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he was a son of the late Dominic James Leali and Irene Blais Leali. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 20 years and retired as a master sergeant. After his retirement, he worked with the U.S. Postal Service for more than 20 years. He loved corvettes, Clemson Tigers and the New England Patriots. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends at Shuckers, VFW Post 3034 and the Elk Lodge. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are one son, Dominic James Leali II and his wife, Carly, of Raleigh, North Carolina; three daughters, Shawna Erwin and her husband, Gabriel, of St. Augustine, Florida, Lisa Scurry and her husband, Steve, of Manning and Betsy Elmore and her husband, Johnnie, of Sumter; one sister, Bernice Hathaway and her husband, John, of Saco, Maine; eight grandchildren, Mya, Tyce, Myles, Matthew and his wife, Gina, Heather and her husband, Anthony, Robbie, Erin and Blake and his wife, Samantha; and six great-grandchildren, Grayson, Dean, Rosie, Jon, Jasmine and Alex.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with full military honors.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Bullock Funeral Home.
