RICHARD MARTIN JR.
Richard "Rich Boy" Martin Jr. was born on Sept. 17, 1986, in Sumter, to the late Debra Martin.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by maternal great-grandmother, Eva Dell Martin; special grandmother, Arajane Carter; maternal grandfather, Edgar Martin Sr.; and one uncle, Edgar Martin Jr.
Richard departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a very special friend, Shakiesha Johnson; four children, Isiah Johnson, Kenyata Wilson, Makayla Martin and Messiah Martin; three sisters, Nyoka Martin, Shaleitia Williams and Cheyenne Martin; five brothers, Edward Williams (Britney), Johnathan Williams, Jeremian Martin, Niem Martin and Dale Spencer Jr.; maternal grandmother, Eva Mae Martin; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at St. Mark 4B Missionary Baptist Church, 2280 Four Bridges Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. Sammie D. Simmions, pastor, and the Rev. Micheal C. Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Bradford Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.
The family is receiving friends at 925 Miller Road, Apartment C5, and 221 Fagan St., Sumter.
