ROBERT BENJAMIN FRYER JR.

Robert Benjamin Fryer Jr., 76, husband of Shirley Chambers Fryer, died on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Florence, he was a son of the late Robert Benjamin Fryer Sr. and Molinda Mozelle Beard Fryer. Mr. Fryer was a member of Grace Full Gospel Church, and he was retired from Westinghouse.

Surviving are his wife of Sumter; a daughter, Renee Fryer DuBose of Sumter; a daughter-in-law, Leslie Qualls Fryer; seven grandchildren, Samuel DuBose and Jaymi DuBose, both of Sumter, and Austin Fryer, Landon Fryer, Rylan Fryer, Sarah Fryer and Owen Fryer, all of Bishopville; two sisters, Emma Jo Horne and Betty Evans, both of Sumter; and two brothers, Glenn Frye of Columbia and Randy Frye of Sumter.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jamie Fryer and Bobby Fryer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Grace Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Stacey Floyd and the Rev. Glenn Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Sumter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
