DALZELL - Robert D. Ross III died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at the home of his sister.

Born Sept. 9, 1961, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Robert D. Ross Jr. and Betty Adams Ross. He was employed by Becton-Dickinson. He was an avid bass fisherman and fished in the Carolina Bass Challenge and the Carolina Anglers Team Trail.

Survivors include three sisters, Betty A. Branham (the late Braley R. Branham) of Camden, Marilyn Odom (Hayward Odom) of Dalzell and Kate Stokes (Gene Stokes) of Sumter; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery on Red Lane Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Bruce Marthers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Morris, Corey Allsbrook, Joey Winfield, Vernie Haltiwanger, Hank Mckinney Jr. and Mike Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Morris, Rick McLean, Steve Walker, Steve Phillips, Hank McKinney and Andy Owens.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, 4247 Red Lane Road, Dalzell.
