SUMMERTON - Robert L. "Bob" Ridgeway, 87, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at McLeod Health Clarendon, Manning.

Bob was born on Feb. 27, 1931, in Denmark, a son of the late James I. Ridgeway Sr. and Ida Wood Ridgeway. He was first married to the late Helen Baxley Ridgeway. He was a member of the Southern Methodist Church of Summerton. He was a retired road master with AMTRAK. He was a former member of the South Carolina Army National Guard; was a member of the Chatham Artillery for more than 50 years; worked with Juvenile Arbitration for Florence County; and served as a South Carolina Delegate to the Republican Convention that nominated George W. Bush for president. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel, 9399 Patterson St., Barnwell. Burial will follow at Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery near the airport.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Methodist Church, P.O. Box 771, Summerton, SC 29148.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Jenny" Locklair Ridgeway of Summerton; daughter, Cindi (Bill) Christensen of Hartsville; granddaughter, Claire Christensen; stepchildren, Sherry Locklair of Merritt Island, Florida, and John Locklear of Kingsland, Georgia; and step-grandchildren, Tara Vicens, Savannah Jordan and John Locklair.

He was also predeceased by siblings, James, Joe, Charles and Ernest Ridgeway, Evelyn Roberson, Jeanette Flanigan and Annette Adams.
