Retired U.S. Marine Corps Master Sgt. Robert Lee Frazier Jr., 63, died on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Dec. 1, 1957, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Robert Lee Frazier Sr. and Sylvia Baker Frazier.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pamela Langston Frazier; a daughter, Jennifer F. King (Wyatt); a son, James P. Frazier (Usha); his much loved six grandchildren that he called his "Minions," Cameron, Sabastian, Mackenzie, Peighton, Nathaniel and Elizabeth; and one very spoiled lapdog named Bella. He is also survived by one sister, Tonya Grammer of Jacksonville, North Carolina; a brother, Ronald Frazier of Horseshoe, North Carolina; and several nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Joseph Randal Frazier.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

He joined the Marine Corps in 1975 and was a career Marine of almost 25 years. He was a drill instructor at Parris Island, an officer candidate instructor at Quantico and was the SNCOIC of Operations Logistics school at the time of his retirement from the Corps in 1999. Since 2000, he was employed by Jet-Vac Equipment Co. in Sumter. He loved to play golf with his son and spending time with his "Minions." He loved to cook and was the family grill master. He made the best extra cheesy cheese grits from his secret recipe. He was an avid collector of snakes and was very proud of his collection.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
