Robert Mack Jr. was born on May 19, 1924, in South Carolina, to the late Robert Sr. and Jessie Nettles Mack, and relocated to the Bronx, New York, as a young adult. Mr. Mack resided there for 45 years, until he returned home to South Carolina in his golden years.

He departed this life on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017.

He loved to tinker with cars and his favorite was a white Cadillac. He was a man who truly enjoyed life to completion.

He leaves to cherish his legacy: one daughter, Barbra Mack; one son, Ronald Mack; his only sister, Jannie Mack; 14 grandchildren, Joseph Mack, Robert Mack, Ronda Mack, Estelle Mack, Ela Powell, Charmaine Mack, Danelle Mack, Willie Wallace Jr., Alfred Wallace, Henrey Wallace, Ocher Mack, Ronald Mack Jr., Ronaldo Mack and Timothy Sistrunk; 30 great-grandchildren; special step-grandchildren, Leo, Kenyetta, Tarick and Juanisha Goodman; special nieces, Zella Hopkins and Patricia Goodman; nephew, Anthony "Tony" McDowell; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Estelle Mack; and his partner in life, Loretta Goodman.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary Inc.

Mr. Mack will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. on Saturday until the hour of service.

Funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150.

Interment will be held on Monday at Florence National Cemetery, 803 E. National Cemetery Road, Florence, SC 29506.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1840 Goodman Road, Lynchburg, SC 29080.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
