Ronnie William Pinckney, 59, departed his earthly life on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at his residence.

Born June 6, 1960, in Sumter County, he was a son of Martha Alston Pinckney and the late William Pinckney Jr. He attended the public schools of Sumter County District 2. He began his employment in construction and later developed a love for working on cars. In his youth, he attended Wayman Chapel AME Church, where he was a member of the junior usher board.

Ronnie's memories will be fondly cherished by his mother, Martha A. Pinckney of the home; one brother, Stanley (Eulinda) Pinckney of Sumter; two sisters, Connie China and Sylvia Todd of Sumter; two aunts, Katie Mosley and Nancy Troy of Sumter; one uncle, Thomas Henry Alston of Chester, Pennsylvania; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 5000 John Franklin Road, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Wayman Chapel AME Church, 160 N. Kings Highway (S.C. 261), Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Broughton Jr., pastor, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The funeral procession will leave at 1:20 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at the Wayman Chapel AME Churchyard Cemetery.
