BLYTHEWOOD - Rosemary McDonald, age 92, died on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at Pruitt Health Blythewood.

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late John Clifton McDonald and Mildred Mary Wactor McDonald. Rosemary attended school in Sumter and graduated from Edmunds High School. She lived the majority of her life on Poinsett Drive and was a longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church. Living a life with cerebral palsy, Rosemary was a very strong and independent woman and even taught herself how to drive. She was very beloved in her community and served as the primary caregiver to her mother, until her death. Rosemary loved to travel and especially enjoyed her Disney Cruise and vacations with her cousin, Sherry.

She is survived by three special cousins, John Henry Thomas Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of Sumter, Casey Thomas of Manning and Sherry T. Garris and her husband, Rod, of Pinewood.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Sumter Cemetery.
