HARTSVILLE – The Sumter High School varsity boys basketball team improved to 5-2 on the season with a 64-63 victory over Hartsville on Tuesday at the HHS gymnasium.
Cam Singleton came up with a steal in the final seconds to secure the win. Singleton finished with 13 while Isiah Moore led the way with 18. Omar Croskey had 11 and Calvin Felder had 10.
Kyron Gray led the 2-3 Red Foxes with 32 points and 15 rebounds. Trae Hannibal had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
On Saturday in the Bojangle’s Bash in Columbia, SHS lost to Dorman 70-61.
Moore had a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Tyree Smalls and Singleton both had seven points, while Felder, Zykiem Jackson, Croskey and Javontay Singletary each had six. Zackson also had six assists.

LANCASTER – Lee Central High School opened its Region IV-2A schedule with a 68-47 victory over Buford on Tuesday at the BHS gymnasium.
DaVeon Thomas led the 6-3 Stallions with 16 points. Demarcus Smith added 15.

Chandler Scott led the Barons with 10 points. Landon VanPatten had nine points and nine rebounds, while Greyson Sonntag snagged 12 rebounds to go with three points.

CAMDEN – Lakewood High School evened its record at 3-3 with a 34-23 victory over Camden on Tuesday at the CHS gymnasium.
Tillman Vaughn led the Gators with 12 points. Umar Lawson added seven.
Mayewood Middle School defeated Bates 49-48 on Monday at the MMS gymnasium.
Zyeir Gamble led the Bantams with 16 points.
Chestnut Oaks 63
MANNING – Chestnut Oaks defeated Manning Junior High 63-58 in overtime on Monday in the MJHS gymnasium.
Lawrence Burroughs led the Falcons with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kori Green had 21 points and eight rebounds, while Zayveon Wells had 12 points and seven boards.
Mayewood defeated Bates 49-48 on Monday at the MMS gymnasium.
