Sammie Lee Moses, 58, of Rembert, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 22, 2019.

Born on Dec. 28, 1960, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Silas and Alethia Grant Moses. He graduated from Hillcrest High School Class of 1980, where he was a standout basketball player. Sammie was employed with the Sumter School District at the time of his passing. He was an entrepreneur and cook. He was the owner of Sam's Cleaning Service, formerly M&M Carpets of Columbia, for which he dedicated many years of service. His previous employment included Palmetto Health Baptist, John Deere and FN Manufacturing.

Sammie leaves as his legacy to cherish his memory: two children, Ariel R. Moses and Nicholas R. Moses; his former wife, Monica R. Moses; eight siblings, Dorlena M. Choice, Ethel (Feggin) Durant, Alta (Dempsie) Sanders, Silas (Beverly) Moses Jr., Curtis (Carolyn) Moses, Brenda (Ronnie) Scott, Wendy (Washington) Williams and Thomasina (Gary) Moore; three aunts; two uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. through today at the home of Feggin and Ethel Durant, 2460 Camden Highway, Sumter.

Homegoing services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene Dennis, pastor, and the Rev. William "B.J." Jefferson, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at noon for viewing until time of services.

The funeral procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from her home.

Burial will be at Elizabeth AME Church Cemetery, Borden Road, Rembert.
