Opinion: Sanford would make a wonderful president, sees Trump for what he is

I haven't written to your paper for a number of years, as I grow older and have many more distractions.

When I moved to South Carolina in 2000 upon retirement, I was already familiar with Mark Sanford and Lindsey Graham and admired them both. I later came to admire Nikki Haley as well.

First, I will admit that I was one of those that leaned toward Donald Trump in the beginning, as I have long been one that thought the Clintons were bad news. Oh my goodness, I sure didn't know what was coming down the road.

Now, as far as South Carolina politics go, I have respect for one. I admire Mark Sanford, who I believe would make a wonderful president, as I believe he would be a president for all, not just those who vote for him. Also, he is fiscally responsible, unlike the folks who are in there now.

I will end this letter by saying that I think Donald Trump is the poorest example of a human being that I can think of. To top it off, he comes on every day on TV and expands on it.

Now Haley, Graham and others are helping his cause, which is astounding.

I am glad that Mark Sanford sees Trump for what he is. I would expand on my thoughts about Trump, but those thoughts wouldn't be fit for a family newspaper.
