SARA TRUETT COULTER

Sara Truett Coulter, 68, died on Monday, March 23, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Oct. 30, 1951, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Eleanor Bradley Truett and the late Raymond B. Truett. She was a member of Bethesda Church of God. She was a hairdresser for many years and enjoyed decorating cakes. She cared for many children throughout the years in her nursery and served as a foster parent with the S.C. Youth Advocate Program for almost 20 years. Sara retired as a medical technician and participated in numerous dementia and Alzheimer's support groups.

Survivors include her mother of Sumter; four children, Theodis Beauford Coulter (Kimberly) of Sumter, Eleanor Leigh Bogdany (Kevin) of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Susie Lyles (Jim) of Sumter and Valirie Rae Risinger (Josh) of West Columbia; and 10 grandchildren, Ryan Marcella (Joanna), Amber Coulter, Bradley Coulter, Brandon Bogdany, Austin Bogdany, Caitlyn Bogdany, Courtney Lyles, Alexis Risinger, KayLeigh Risinger and Thomas Risinger.

Due to the circumstances concerning the coronavirus, the family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a children's home of one's choice.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
