SPARTANBURG (AP) - South Carolina police said a deputy is accused of repeatedly abusing his wife, who he allegedly body-slammed onto the ground when she was pregnant.

News outlets reported Donald Douglass Ross Jr. was arrested and charged with domestic violence Friday, the same day he resigned from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's office.

Arrest warrants said Ross is accused of punching his wife in October, shoving her into a wall in 2017 and body-slamming her in 2011.

It's unclear whether he has an attorney.
