Search continues for presumed remains of Sumter child

Sumter law enforcement officers continue to search the Waste Management Richland Landfill for the presumed remains of 5-year-old Nevaeh Adams.
According to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for Sumter Police Department, as of Monday no remains had been found of the child whose mother, Sharee Bradley, was stabbed to death inside their Lantana Apartments home in Sumter on Aug. 5.
Bradley's suspected killer, 28-year-old Daunte Johnson, reportedly admitted to killing both mother and child and said he put Nevaeh's body in the Dumpster at the apartment complex.
After going through 230 tons of material that had been transferred from Sumter County to the landfill, experts from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children determined there may have been additional truckloads of garbage transferred to the landfill that were not searched. The second search of the material began on Sept. 17 and continues.
