Segars-Goodson
Jane Elizabeth Segars and James Arthur Goodson IV, both of Sumter, were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020, at LinRan Farm in Sumter.
The bride is the daughter of Burrell "Billy" Raymie Segars Sr. and Nicolle Segars of Sumter, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Lyric Burnett of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Allen Stuckey of Defiance, Ohio, and Charles Arthur Segars Sr. and the late Addie Louise Wise Segars of Sumter. She graduated from Wilson Hall in 2014, from Clemson University in 2018 with a degree in recreational therapy and from Central Carolina Technical College School of Nursing in 2020.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr. James Arthur Goodson III and Tara Godwin Goodson of Sumter and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Arthur Goodson Jr. of Darlington and Ms. Patricia Webster Godwin and the late Charles Edward Godwin III of Lake City. He graduated from Wilson Hall in 2014, Clemson University in 2018 and plans to graduate from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 2022.
Ms. Angela Marshall officiated at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Kipper Ackerman, harpist.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Lauren Melinda Goodson and Mrs. Taylor Goodson Green, both sisters of the bridegroom, served as maid of honor and matron of honor, respectively. Bridesmaids were Robin Caroline Mims, Mary Copeland Heath, Kristen Miller Walton, Sydney Jane Bailey, Suzanne Sellers Pickens, Julia Baer Martin, Anne Elise Goudelock, Jesse Renee Beasley, Emily Faith Cook and Bailey Stokes Lee.
The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Charles Bradshaw Goodson, brother of the bridegroom, Parker Bradley McDuffie, John Patrick Sears Jr., Miles Hamilton Cox, William Ballard Kinney, Andrew Byron Kinney, Richard Ashton Knowlton, Joshua Tyler Pannell, Tanner Marks Carraway, Cecil Kelly Jackson Jr., Brandon Shane Green, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Burrell Raymie Segars Jr. and Andrew Ryan Segars, brothers of the bride.
The parents of the bride and bridegroom held the reception at LinRan Farm.
The rehearsal party was hosted by the parents of the bridegroom.
The couple will reside in Charleston.
