SHARON MCGIBENY VERMELAND

Sharon McGibeny Vermeland, 56, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at her home.

Born on Sept. 16, 1963, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, she was a daughter of Betty Bulsterbaum and the late Arthur David McGibeny. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was formerly employed at NBSC.

Survivors include her mother of Sumter; a son, Andrew Vermeland of Greenville; two sisters, Andrea L. Fickling (Frank) of Sumter and Lisa Lemacks (Michael) of Asheville, North Carolina; nephews, Walker Fickling, Noah Lemacks and Jacob Lemacks; and nieces, Hannah Grace Lemacks and Isabella Lemacks.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Bob Calvert officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
