Sheriff's office: Suspect in Sumter bar shooting arrested

A 29-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday in connection to a shooting incident on Feb. 2.
Jerel Heriot faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, according to Deputy Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer for the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place at a bar in the 1300 block of Peach Orchard Road, where one man sustained a minor injury during the incident and multiple vehicles were damaged.
More information about his arrest and his charges will be released at a later time according to Sarvis.
