SHIRLEY CLARK JAMES

COLUMBIA - On Sunday, March 12, 2023, Shirley Clark James, widow of Deacon Richard Henry James, passed away peacefully at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

Born on Saturday, Feb. 19, 1938, in Miami, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Isaiah Sylvester Clark Sr. and Elretea Nelson Clark.

Services celebrating her life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 10331 Plowdon Mill Road, Alcolu, where the Rev. Hazel Charles, pastor, will preside. The Rev. Dr. Isaiah Sylvester Clark Jr. will bring words of comfort. Masks are required for those attending the service.

The service of committal will follow at 1 p.m. on Monday at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia.

Public viewing will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Fleming & DeLaine Chapel, 222 W. Boyce St., Manning.
