Shirley Moore

Shirley Elizabeth West Moore, age 80, beloved wife of 56 years to the late Clyde E. Moore, formerly of Perry Point, Md., and longtime resident of Cecil County, died on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Marion, Va., a daughter of the late Carl Fitzhugh and Charlotte Jane Tibbs West. She formerly worked at both the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. and for the Veteran's Administration in Perry Point. She was a former member of Perryville Methodist Church in Perryville, Md.

Surviving are three sons, Clyde E. Moore Jr. of Sumter, Kenneth D. Moore of Florida and Patrick K. Moore of Sumter; one daughter, Kathleen G. Rapposelli of Sumter; two brothers, Roger West of Marion, Va., and Bob E. West of Sugar Grove, Va.; six sisters, Joann Hamm of Port Deposit, Md., Debbie Alexander of Marion, Va., Doris Sheets of Marion, Va., Irma Hutton of Wytheville, Va., Glenna Keys of Sugar Grove and Freda Rottenberry of Marion, Va.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Randolph L. Moore; four brothers, June West, Everett West, W.C. West and Ralph West; and one sister, Rosa Hayes.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bullock Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 10 a.m. Friday at Florence National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bullock Funeral Home.
