Shivern's Fashions in Sumter to celebrate grand re-opening on Saturday

Starting her business more than 40 years ago, Shirley Harris recently relocated her fashion boutique, Shivern's Fashions, from Main Street to Broad Street to have more space.

"It's a larger location, and I have twice the size," Harris said.

The boutique offers some casual wear, but it focuses more on special occasion wear, such as formal, prom, choirs, group orders, robes for church, hats, suits, dresses, shoes and accessories.

With the relocation, Harris plans to have a grand re-opening event on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 725 Broad St.

The event will feature a small fashion show, hors d'oeuvres, sales, prizes and games.

Radio Station 98.3 WLJI will also be at the grand re-opening.

"It's going to be like a little celebration," Harris said.
