CHARLESTON - Nicole Elizabeth Smith of Sumter and Robert James Kennedy of DeBary, Florida, were united in marriage at 4 p.m. April 12, 2019, at The Island House.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Smith and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Smith, Annie Payne and the late Jim Payne, and the late Nancy Moore, all of Sumter. She graduated from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 2017 with a Doctor of Pharmacy and from Arnold School of Public Health in 2017 with a Master of General Public Health. She is employed as a pharmacist by Prisma Health.

The bridegroom is the son of Ed Kennedy and the late Cheryl Kennedy of DeBary and the grandson of Ed Kennedy Sr. and the late Ann Kennedy of Paisley, Florida, and the late Ted Stubbs and Mrs. Maryilyn Stubbs of Inverness, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing. He is employed by Medline as an account management representative.

Pastor John Sorrells officiated at the ceremony.

Music was provided by Crump Entertainment.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory V-neck ball gown topped with beaded lace appliques on a midado bodice with a tulle skirt. She carried a delicate assortment of coral and pink peonies with white roses.

Mallory Smith served as matron of honor. Heather Brauer, Lauren DeMarte and Sarah Winterlin served as bridesmaids.

Kurt Shigley served as best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Alagha, John Paul Fiore, Bryce Tillerson and Christopher Smith. Noah Shigley and Dean Winterlin served as ring bearers.

Also participating was Eliza Johnson, violinist.

The reception was held at The Island House.

Following a wedding trip to Italy, the couple resides in Sumter.
