Nancy Cameron Smith and Patrick Kershaw Smith, both of Washington, D.C., were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church in Sumter. The Rev. Canon Dana Colley Corsello and the Rev. Robert Montgomery Brearley officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beasley Smith of Sumter and the granddaughter of Mrs. Joseph Speed Williams and the late Mr. Williams of Sumter, formerly of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and Mrs. Edward Lewis Smith and the late Mr. Smith of Whiteville, North Carolina. She graduated from Wilson Hall School in 2011 and Wofford College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Accounting. She is employed as an assistant vice president and portfolio manager with Truist Bank in Washington, D.C.

The bridegroom is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Joseph Kershaw Smith of Wayne, Pennsylvania, and the grandson of Mrs. Peter Jude Baer and the late Mr. Baer of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Mr. Robert McCurdy Smith Jr. and the late Mrs. Smith of Columbia. He graduated from Spartanburg High School in 2013 and Sewanee: The University of the South in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Religious Studies. He is employed as the deputy director of preservation and facilities at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

Music was provided by Denise Renee Lynch, organist; Alex Michael Beaton, soloist; Lauren Coffin Decker, violinist; Evan Lewis Thompson, trumpeter; and Greyson Hunter Holler, bagpiper.

The bride, who was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a custom-designed gown by Modern Trousseau. Her chapel-length veil, an heirloom worn by her sister, mother and grandmother, was adorned with hand-sewn Brussels lace.

Katherine Smith DaSilva, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Griffith McLeod Britton, Rebecca Simmons Brown, Courtney Kight Duffy, Sarah Cox Gray, Leah Anne Hunter, Brittany Devan McCurry, Shelby Neal McKeown, Rebecca Marlowe Micklon, Megan Shuler Reese, Mary Margaret Somheil Richey and Katherine Lindsay Smith.

Connor Gregory Smith, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Samuel Cyubahiro, William Brooks DaSilva, Anthony Carl Dykes, Harrison Edward Kennedy, Austin David Lewis, Kyle Procop McCormack, Thomas Ford Moriarty, Powers Nathaniel Spencer, Roderick Murchison Todd III, Timothy Robert Phillips Walter and Lockhart Mays Williamson.

Readers were Claire Marie Lewis and James Noble Howard Gray McKeachie. Greeters were Marina Olga Macklin and Parker Christina Carson Van de Water.

The bride's parents held the reception at the Quixote Club.

The bridegroom's parents held the rehearsal party at The O'Donnell House in Sumter.

After their honeymoon in Nevis and Antigua, the couple will reside in Washington, D.C.
