Students of Jane Luther Smith excel at state piano competition

Sumter pianists Kaylee Eccles, 6, seated, and Ananda Bucci, 9, received the highest rating of One Plus (1+) in the South Carolina Piano Festival Association Competition held Saturday, March 11, at the University of South Carolina School of Music, Columbia. In addition, Kaylee was designated as the honorable mention winner for the entire Early Elementary Division. Both pianists are students of Jane Luther Smith of Jane Luther Smith Piano Studios, 1190 Suite 5, Old W. Liberty St., Sumter. Kaylee and Ananda will play in the State Honors Piano Recital on Saturday, March 18, at 11 a.m. in the University of South Carolina School of Music Recital Hall on Assembly Street, Columbia. The public is invited. Admission is free.
