Johnny Raffield, spokesman for the society, said Monday's meeting will be the last before the summer break and that it "will deviate from genealogy to learn about an important topic that is relevant for all of us."
Givens will describe and explain the provisions of general durable powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney and living wills. He will also discuss the importance of having an authority assist in completing these documents.
A native of Sumter, Givens joined Kolb, Murphy & Givens Attorneys at Law LLC in November 2010. He provides legal advice on business entities, estate planning, trusts, wills, probate administration and taxation.
