Sumter Chapter National Federation of the Blind to meet


The Sumter Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina will meet at 7 p.m. today at Shiloh-Randolph Manor, 125 W. Bartlette St. State membership dues are due on Jan. 9 without a penalty. The spotlight will shine on Frances Strong and the associate members are Earl and Carolyn Klaege. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Walk will be held on Monday, Jan. 15. The walk will start and end at the Nettles Building at USC Sumter, 200 Miller Road. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9:30 a.m. There will be a program at 11 a.m. The theme is "This situation CAN and WILL be changed." The Sumter Branch NAACP's Martin Luther King Jr. Program will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 155 Wall St. The Rev. George Windley Jr. will speak.
