The Sumter County Coroner’s Office released additional information regarding the human remains found along Cimmaron Road on Sunday.

Following an autopsy that was conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston on Tuesday, it was determined that the individual suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to Coroner Robbie Baker.

The body was determined to be that of an African American male between the ages of 18 to 45 years old with a slim build. The individual is believed to be about 5 feet 7  1/2 inches tall, weighing between 117 to 150 pounds, and appeared to have short or a balding hairstyle with short facial hair. There was dental work done in the past including silver metal crown on one tooth and fillings on a few others.

The individual has the following tattoos:

  • “MURKCITY” on the upper right chest with a skull design under it;
  • A lion’s head on the upper left chest;
  • The left arm has a phrase believed to say “INHALE THE FUTURE, EXHALE THE PAST”; and
  • The right upper arm has a star design along with another design that was not legible which appears to continue down the right forearm.

Anyone who thinks they may know the identity of this person is urged to call the Sumter County Coroner’s Office at (803) 436-2111 or the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 436-2000.
