Sumter deputies seeking identity of reckless driver who caused $80,000 in damage

The Sumter County Sherriff’s Office is seeking the identity of a man who caused $80,000 in property damage on Nov. 27 on the 1300 block of Peach Orchard Road.

The unidentified suspect, who wore a black North Face jacket, was recorded by surveillance footage getting into a white Ford 250 crew cab diesel truck with a passenger after leaving a bar after 4 a.m., according to Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer for the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect losing control of the truck, which struck the building and caused damage to the structure and equipment inside.
