Sumter Iris Festival parade canceled, park closed Saturday due to weather forecast

The Sumter Iris Festival parade and Swan Lake Iris Gardens will be closed on Saturday due to inclement weather.
According to Shelley Kile, communications and tourism director for the City of Sumter, the annual Shrine Day Parade is also canceled, and Iris Festival festivities will be closed in the Swan Lake Iris Gardens on Saturday due to high winds and heavy rain expected throughout the day. The park is scheduled to reopen with full festivities commencing on Sunday.
