Sumter, Lee County Government offices closed Nov. 8; City of Sumter, Clarendon County offices remain open

With the midterm election on Tuesday, Sumter County Government offices will be closed Nov. 8, communications coordinator Joe Perry said.

The Sumter County Council meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. that night will commence as normal in the county's chambers inside the Administration Building, 13 E. Canal St.

Julie Stokes, assistant administrator of Lee County Government, said county offices will be closed on Election Day, as well. The scheduled Lee County Council meeting that night has been rescheduled to Thursday, Nov. 10, at 9:30 a.m. in the Main Court Room, 113 Gregg St., in Bishopville.

According to Shelley Kile, communications and tourism director for the City of Sumter, City of Sumter offices will remain open on Tuesday. The same goes for Clarendon County Government.
