Sumter Police Department has released the name of a man suspected to have information pertaining to a fatal shooting along Boulevard Road.

Before 11 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a shooting call at A&P Coastal Mart. Upon arrival, officers found Adrian NaBryce McCray, 25, lying on the ground, according to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the agency. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, McGirt said.

Family members of McCray were with him at the time of death, and an autopsy will be scheduled for a later date by Sumter County Coroner’s Office.

Information obtained by officers indicated Travis Jermaine Wright, 43, of Sumter, was near the business about the time of the shooting. Wright is an acquaintance of the victim and might have been seen driving a 2021 Volkswagen Golf, similar to the vehicle seen after the shooting, McGirt said.

Anyone with information or who knows where Wright is is asked to contact Sumter Police Department at (803) 436-2700.

Information can also be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC, online at p3tips.com or by using the P3Tips app for mobile devices.
