Sumter man, who reportedly shot brother, charged with 2 counts of attempted murder

An argument between two brothers ended with one being shot in the upper leg and abdomen Friday, according to an incident report from the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy was called to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital after the 37-year-old victim arrived at the hospital, driven by another family member.

According to the incident report from the sheriff's office, the victim reported being shot in the front yard of a residence on Oklahoma Drive by his 37-year-old brother, Anthony Daytwon Montgomery of Oklahoma Drive, who fled the residence in a light blue Lexus SUV.

The vehicle and Montgomery were both located later at an East Patricia Drive residence.

Montgomery, who had an active case for another shooting incident, was arrested and transported to Sumter County Sheriff's Office Detention Center. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder.
