Sumter needs a new, full-time mayor to look to the future

Sumter 2040? The people of Sumter make Sumter what it is, good or bad. Many things need to change. We need a new form of government. We need a "strong mayor" form of government. We need a "full-time" mayor that can be held to account for Sumter. Today's mayor is responsible for nothing except chairing the city council.

The mayor seems to show up where there's a camera present. He, like many of us, should run from any camera. We need to look at the future through the windshield, not the rearview mirror.
