The Sumter Police Department is asking for help to locate a 16-year-old runaway.

Brianna Simone West left her Ginhouse Drive home at about 7 p.m. on May 5, and has yet to return home, said Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the police department.

McGirt said this wasn't the first time West was considered a runaway.  She also ran away from home in March.

Officers believe West left the Sumter area with Quantasia Oleen Rufus, 19, of Burgess Court, who is wanted for contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge, McGirt said.

West is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

If you have seen either West or Rufus, please contact the Sumter Police Department at (803) 436-2700 or the nearest law enforcement agency.

Information can also be given anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or by using the Crime Stoppers website or app.
